Preheat barbecue to medium high. Oil the grate.
Brush corn with butter and bake about 8 minutes, turning occasionally.
Remove from heat and brush the corns of the rest of mayonnaise and put on the barbecue. Continue cooking about 8 minutes, turning occasionally. The grains should be brown and still slightly firm to the bite.
Serve with mayonnaise that has been reserved.
