Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Brown potatoes, onions and smoked turkey in canola oil. Pour in cider or white wine and cook 2 to 3 minutes. Season with salt and ground pepper. Place half this garnish in a small pie plate. Cut Empereur cheese in two along the width. Place half the cheese on the garnish. Cover with the remaining garnish. Cover with the other half of the cheese. Cook about 20 minutes. Let cool slightly and cut in triangles to serve.
