Put ham, fat side up, in a shallow pan. Brush with mustard, sprinkle with brown sugar and pour ginger ale over it. Cover and bake in a preheated 325°F (160°C) oven about 1 hour; let stand and serve. Protect the extremities of the ham from overcooking with strips of aluminium foil, shiny side facing the meat; cover the edge with wax paper. Cook at "Medium" 24 minutes (for a 650 watt oven), remove aluminium foil and turn ham. Cook another 24 minutes at "Medium". Let stand 10 to 15 minutes, covered with aluminium foil, shiny side facing the ham.
