Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).In a bowl, combine butter, brown sugar, corn syrup and molasses.Using a hand mixer, beat until smooth and creamy. Add egg and mix.In another bowl, sift dry ingredients together. Stir into butter-sugar mixture.Refrigerate dough 10 minutes to firm it up.Roll out dough on parchment paper to 1/4 in. (5 mm) thick.Cut out desired shapes and place on a baking sheet.Bake 10 minutes or until lightly browned.Cool completely before decorating.
