Slice off the top of the melon.
Cut a thin slice off the bottom so that the melon bowl will sit upright.
Remove seeds. Scoop out flesh with a melon baller.
Put 1 cup (250 mL) of melon balls in the melon bowl.
Refrigerate remaining melon.
Scrub orange under running water and finely grate peel. Toss melon balls with peel. Cut orange into segments and add to melon balls.
If using fresh cut fruit salad, add it to melon balls.
Hull strawberries. Cut in two lengthways. Reserve.
In a small bowl, combine chocolate syrup and orange juice.
Pour syrup over the fruit, mixing it in.
Garnish with strawberries.
