In a thick-bottomed saucepan, bring milk and vanilla bean to a boil.
Cook just under a boil for 2 minutes. Add rice and simmer on low heat, stirring frequently.
Cook about 45 minutes or until rice is cooked.
Remove from heat and add salt and almond. Cool.
