Cook the spaghetti according to the manufacturer's instructions.
In a saucepan, sauté the oil, garlic, green onion and mushrooms.
Cook for 5 minutes or until the mushrooms are golden, and set aside.
Add the tomatoes, tomato paste, chilies and chopped basil, and cook for 10 minutes, stirring constantly. Puree the sauce in the blender. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Pour the sauce over the pasta, garnish with the mushrooms and decorate with the basil.
