Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C). Put the beans in an oven-proof dish; add water to cover, and add molasses, mustard, ketchup, onions, garlic, salt and pepper. Bake in the oven for at least 4 fours, adding water if necessary. Add the fat. When the beans are baked, mash 1/2 cup (125 mL) of beans to thicken the preparation.
