Metro’s Better Life, Better Choices program was designed to guide your food choices according to your dietary needs. The program is not an exact science and is not a substitute for professional medical advice. We therefore encourage you to consult a health care professional before starting any diet or dietary plan and to always read the complete list of ingredients to make an informed decision. Attributes are assigned based on the information obtained from a product’s packaging, nutrition table, ingredients list, received from the manufacturer and other relevant sources of information, including current market certifications. The attributes are provided solely as a reference to help you easily find the products while you are shopping. These labels should not be regarded as a sufficient basis for making health-related decisions. You must independently determine whether the product has the characteristics you are looking for. Choosing to rely on any product attribute remains the sole responsibility of the customer.
This program was developed in collaboration with SPINS and Metro’s nutrition consultants which enables Metro to use the SPINS Product Intelligence to display the different attributes associated with the products.
Product attributes may change over time. We update them on a routine basis and within a reasonable time frame. A product may have an attribute that is no longer applicable. You can confirm a product’s attributes by reading the information on the packaging or checking with the manufacturer, either by visiting their website or by contacting them directly. We also invite you to read the Conditions of Use available on our website metro.ca.
