Following a lactose-free diet is important for those with lactose intolerance. Lactose intolerance is caused by the body’s inability to produce the enzyme lactase, which is needed to digest lactose, thereby causing digestion problems.

If you are following a lactose-free diet, there are plenty of alternatives to choose from, such as soy, almond, or oat milk.
