Recipe ingredients

  • 18 flat-bottom ice cream cones*
  • 1 520-g box Merit Selection chocolate cake mix
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup (250 mL) cold water
  • 1/3 cup (80 mL) vegetable oil*
  • 1/3 cup (80 mL) butter, softened*

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350ºF/180ºC.
Place cones in muffin tin, open side up.
Beat cake mix, eggs, water, oil and butter together for 5 min. with mixer on medium-high setting.
Fill cones 2/3 full with batter. Bake 12-15 min. until cake is done and rises over cone tops, looking like a scoop of ice cream.
Decorate with icing and sweets
