Discover advice from our Metro experts

In addition to traditional applesauce, crumbles, and pies, there are many ways to turn apples into desserts and to get the most out of their nutritional properties.

Fresh apples for dipping

Have a sweet tooth? Enjoy apples with delicious caramel, chocolate, or peanut butter-based dips. For a healthier option, try Greek yogurt or cream cheese dips.

Dried apples for snacks

Dried apples are a delicious snack that you can easily take with you. Remove the core, slice, and sprinkle with lemon juice. Then bake in the oven at a low temperature for 6 to 8 hours.

Applesauce in your recipes

To lower the amount of fat in your muffin and cake recipes, replace half of the fat (oil, butter, margarine, etc.) with unsweetened homemade applesauce. A simple and delicious alternative!
