3 TIPS FOR NUTRITIOUS, FLAVOURFUL SALADS
Reinvent your salads with these simple tips.
Keep your veggies fresh
Lettuce and spinach will remain fresh longer if washed, drained, wrapped in paper towels, then stored in the fridge in an air-tight plastic bag. If the leafy greens you purchased come in an air-tight bag, put them in the fridge as is. Other fresh vegetables shouldn't be washed before being eaten because that makes them rot quicker.Prevent soggy salads with a Mason jar
Start by filling the jar with the heaviest, non-absorbent ingredients. Add the lighter ones and then the dressing. Top with the lettuce. Make sure the jar remains vertical until it’s meal time!Quinoa will make you feel fuller!
Quinoa is a gluten-free source of fibre, iron, and zinc. Since it only takes about 15 minutes to cook in water, quinoa is a key ingredient when you’re short on time! Just like pasta, it can be combined with myriad ingredients for delicious salads.
